Jempsons storesupports localmusic festival

The Jempson Foundation made a £250 donation to the 2014 Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival which takes place in the village and surrounding area.

The event, which opened on Thursday June 19, is a weekend of exquisite chamber music featuring a host of acclaimed musicians including the Celan Quartet, Benedetto Lupo, cellist Richard Lester as well as renowned violinist Anthony Marwood co-director of the festival and Peasmarsh resident.

Anthony Marwood said “On behalf of the Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival Trust, I would like to thank The Jempson Foundation for its ongoing support.”

He continued: “We are delighted that Jempson’s share our commitment to bringing musicians of international stature to Peasmarsh and Rye in order for people locally to enjoy world-class concerts on their doorstep.”

Stephen Jempson said: “Artists and ensembles of international standing will perform right here in Peasmarsh.

“ It is with absolute pleasure that we offer our support to this event”.

Anthony Marwood said: “Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival aims to bring world-class musicians of international standing to this small corner of rural East Sussex allowing audiences to enjoy ‌international quality chamber music on their doorstep.

“ With seven concerts over four days,it is a significant event in the regional cultural calendar.”
