Felpham Way Evening WI president Joyce Sharpe welcomed everyone and was pleasantly surprised to see a good number of new faces among the regular members.

There was quite a lot of correspondence to deal with, including a letter from Bishop Tuffnel School, asking if any members felt able to teach children healthy eating habits.

The group received an invitation from Middleton WI to go on a coach outing to Sidlesham. Long-standing member Peggy Mercer, who underwent a hip operation in August, sent a letter thanking members for flowers and fruit received. She was already back at the raffle table, none the worse for wear.

Members were reminded of the American supper at the WI's birthday in October.

Members were also asked to consider putting their name up for election to the committee.

Gill Avery then got everybody organised for line-dancing. In a gentle but subtle way, she taught members moves over and over again.

Gradually, the group improved and decided this should be done more often. After a welcome cup of tea, raffle and birthday bundles of flowers, members went their various ways. The competition, an autumn arrangement, was won by Pam Wills.
