Rye and District Lions have made a £1,000 donation to Rye and District Community Transport.

The money was raised on the Rye Lions stalls at the local summer fetes and the collections at Christmas outside the local supermarkets.

Presenting the cheque to John Izod and Pat Hughes of Rye Community Transport, Rye Lions President Terry Cobby said: “The Lions are always pleased to donate money to local charitable causes.

“Rye Community Transport not only provides a service to the residents of Rye and area but also help the Lions by providing transport to Lions functions such as the recent brass band concert and the Seniors Sunday lunch in April.”

Anyone wishing to join Rye Lions and have fun raising money for those less fortunate and to enjoy regular social events should contact Terry Cobby on 01797 252382.
