Littlehampton volunteers mass to help flood victims

AN ARMY of volunteers in Littlehampton have rallied together to help those affected by yesterday’s flooding (Monday, June 11).

Local charity Raydar has teamed up with Way Out There And Back and florists Petal ‘N’ Buds, to create the Littlehampton Flood Relief Group.

The relief centre’s headquarters, in Evans Garden, off Arcade Road, is already full with emergency supplies, from clothes and bedding, to toys and food – all of which have been donated by sympathetic residents in Littlehampton.

The group, which has a dedicated page now set up on Facebook, is inviting all those affected by the floods across the Littlehampton area to come and pick-up some supplies.

Staci Quinn, of Way Out There And Back, based in Evans Garden, said: “We’ve had an overwhelming response.

People have been working through the night to collect donations to help all the poor people hit by the flooding.

“Many have lost their clothes and need as much help as they can. We can provide that help.”

The group is appealing for more people in Littlehampton to donate any unwanted clothes, particularly men’s clothing and shoes.

Staci added: “This is the Big Society, Littlehampton style.”
