People in Rother can follow the outcome of elections in the district – via live updates online.
On May 7, all 38 seats on Rother District Council are up for grabs, while parish and town council elections are being held in six areas.
The De La Warr Pavilion is the venue for counting in the district and parish elections, and the General Election count for the Bexhill and Battle constituency.
RDC will publish results as they are declared on its website, with live Facebook and Twitter updates.
Malcolm Johnston, executive director of resources, acting returning officer and returning officer, said: “It’s unusual that the General, district and parish elections fall on the same day, so it’s going to be a very busy time for us.
“Voting will decide not only who will be the MP and the political make-up of the council, but also which councillors will represent people in their local area for the next four years.
“Following the results on our website or social media pages is the ideal way for people to find out the results as they come in and to get involved in the excitement of the election.”
Checking of ballot papers will begin as soon as polls close at 10pm on May 7, followed by the General Election count, the result of which is expected at around 4.30am the following morning. Counting for the district and parish elections begins at 9am on Saturday May 9 with the last results expected by around 4.30pm. The results can be found at www.rother.gov.uk/news
