Lucky escape for truck hit by falling tree in Bosham

Miraculously, the huge conifer landed on a metal toolbox in the back of her Mitsobishi L200 pick-up, breaking its fall as it crashed down in high winds on Sunday night.
Erica Brown, a landscape gardener, said: “The truck was parked in my drive and I came out to sort the chickens out as I normally do in the morning and low and behold I had a tree in the back of my truck.

Hide Ad“A conifer had split and half of it had come down on the back of my truck. Had I parked just a few inches back I would have lost the truck for sure.
“There was a big metal toolbox in the back of the truck and that took the brunt of the fall.
“I phoned a tree surgeon friend who came out and moved it, and apart from a few dents it’s perfectly fine to drive.”
