The following are court results for the Observer area from Hastings Magistrates’ Court from December 16 to December 17.
Karl Perring (aged 20), of Stonehouse Drive, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention, driving without insurance and failing to stop after an accident. The offences took place at Napier Road, St Leonards, on June 6, 2015. He was fined £200 and disqualified from driving for six months. Danny Wenham (aged 46), of Javelin Road, West Malling, Kent, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman at Cinque Ports Street, in Rye, on November 28. The court made a community order with a requirement for 60 hours of unpaid work. Lloyd Francis (aged 24), of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to resisting a police officer at Hastings on December 1. He was fined £50. Patricia Harman (aged 77), of De La Warr Parade, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle on the A259 Bexhill Road, while over the drink drive limit on September 12. She gave an alcohol urine reading of 128 milligrams. The legal limit is 107mg. She was fined £200 and banned from driving for 12 months. Jemma Hewish (aged 39), of Beauclerk Way, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagon Golf, on the Ridge, at Hastings, on September 26 when she had amphetamine in her blood stream which was over the legal limit for driving. She was fined £120 and banned from driving for 12 months. Robert Noonan (aged 33), of Priory Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to stealing four perfumes, worth £161.10, from Debenhams, Hastings, on November 28. He also pleaded guilty to stealing food, of an unknown value, from the One Stop convenience shop in Bexhill on October 10. He was fined £80 and the court made a community order with a drug dependency treatment requirement. Daniel Weeks (aged 39), of Churchill Avenue, Hastings, pleaded guilty to taking a Renault Clio car without consent at Hastings on November 27, and refusing to provide a specimen. He also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and being in possession of a quantity of herbal cannabis. He was banned from driving for 12 months and the court made a community order with a requirement of 60 hours unpaid work. Brian Elphick (aged 68), of Waterloo Close, St Leonards, was sent to prison for a total of 42 weeks after pleading guilty to three charges of assaulting a woman by beating. The offences took place at Stunts Green, Herstmonceux, on November 15 and December 12. He also admitted being in breach of a suspended sentence imposed for an earlier offence of drink driving.
Michael Cutler (aged 46), of Milward Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle at Old London Road, Hastings, on December 3, while over the drink drive limit. He gave an alcohol breath reading of 61 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. He was fined £120 and banned from driving for 17 months.
