In a special report in the Thursday, May 29 edition of the Herald, reporter Katherine McGlinchey discovers how the town's charities are coping as the cost of petrol climbs ever higher.

Across the country diesel prices range from 115.9p to 140.9p a litre and unleaded costs between 108.9p to 126.9p.

Today (Tuesday, May 27), hundreds of lorry drivers have driven to London to hand in a petition to 10 Downing Street, against a two per cent increase in fuel tax.
