TWO missing five year old girls sparked a massive air and land search.

The alarm was raised when the girls were reported missing on Monday April 30.

An air support unit scoured the area and local farmers and villagers joined in the search.

The girls were found playing safely nearby.

Rye police sergeant Warren Downs commented: “Well done and thank you to all officers and members of the public involved in the search and safe return of two girls.

“Without the helicopter support, local people’s help and fast deployment of local police officers the outcome of these girl’s little adventure could have been very different.”
