Now, for some snooker results; Mountfield after three straight 3-2 defeat had two home games in a week, given them a chance to get back into the promotion pack.

First at home were 3rd place Staplehurst, and Mountfield determined to get their season back on track soon won the first two frames, with Sean Spillett winning the first on the black 59-52, and Kevin Gray winning the second 52-33.

In the 3rd frame Andy Saunders was in an unstoppable form quickly winning the frame 44-16. Alex Gray lost the 4th frame for Mountfield 14-43 and despite a break of 22 Steve Smith lost the 5th frame 37-52 against arguably the best player in the league. Final score Mountfield 3 Staplehurst 2.

The following evening in a re arranged league match Mountfield entertained Cramp B.Sean Spillett soon won the first frame winning on the black 52-46. Next up was Kevin Gray who was in unstoppable form and with a help of a 21 break took the second frame 73-26. Andy Saunders not to be out done won the 3rd frame for Mountfield 45-7. Alex Gray lost the 4th frame despite some good potting 34-57,and Steve Smith was given a walk over in the 5th frame. Final Score Mountfield 4 Cramp B 1

In darts the A team played The Millers Arms in the darts team KO semi final, we lost the 1st game and then won the 2nd through Alex Gray, unfortunately that was as good as it got as we lost the next 3 to lose 4-1. We played the final 2 games which had no bearing on the result and we won both through Wayne Hardy and Barry Reader.

Next week is the push penny singles KO cup.

Nobody has come forward to take over this Village Voice as yet. I will continue until the end of March at the latest. Please let me know if you are interested or at 15, Eatenden Lane.
