Maxine Gray had a very eventful day at the Heathfield Show on 26th May. She took some cows from the farm at Sandhurst where she works and was washing them in preparation for the show, when one of them kicked her. Unfortunately, Maxine sustained a black eye, her jaw was knocked sideways and she had to have several stitches above one eye. Brave Maxine was treated at Eastbourne District General Hospital and then amazingly not only did she return to the show, she had great success.. She won every class she entered and was crowned Champion and Reserve Champion in the Channel Island Section. Also, she was crowned Reserve Dairy Champion in the Interbreed Section. Congratulations to Maxine for doing so well despite being injured!. Thanks to Molly Gray for e mailing me details. She must be very proud of her sister.

Because of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the lunch club will not meet in June but will come together again on July 2, as normal.
