MP welcomes new crime fight agency

The newly created Serious Organised Crime Agency has been welcomed by Arundel and South Downs MP, Nick Herbert.

Speaking in his role as Shadow Minister for Police Reform omn Radio 4's Today programme and on BBC Five Live on Monday, Mr Herbert said:"When you consider that the economic and social costs of serious organised crime are estimated to be in the order of 20bn a yhear, which is the equivalent of 300 for every person in the country, there is no doubt that these matters require a greater degree of coordination and new approaches in terms of crime fighting.
