EXCITED book fan Megan Lam took the chance to meet one of her favourite authors in Bognor Regis.

Five-year-old Megan, from Barnet in North London, queued for the autograph of best-selling Holly Web after an exclusive reading of her latest book.

Magic Molly: The Clever Little Kitten is a spin-off from her popular series which features the young girl who can talk to animals.

It has been published for World Book Day on March 1.

Holly visited Butlin’s to publicise the day and charm up to 40 young readers with excerpts from her book.

Megan’s dad, Siu Lam, 39, said: “Megan has a reading age of nine. She loves reading Holly Web’s stories and was quite excited about meeting her first author. She will be the first name in her autograph book.”

Holly said: “Children mostly talk to me about their pets. I think they love the idea of a girl who can talk to animals.

“Molly’s a modern girl and it’s that twist they enjoy and they want to read about.”
