Carolyn Weston has retired from Guestling Bradshaw School after 11 years as head teacher.

Kate Tugwell, from the school, said: “Amidst tears and hugs, staff, pupils, parents and governors wished Mrs. Weston a long and happy retirement and thanked her for her dedication and drive as she led the school to a Good rating at their most recent OFSTED.

“Carolyn Weston devoted endless hours to ensure that every child was recognised for their gifts and talents.

“Children celebrated her headship at an emotional farewell service at Guestling Church. Parents were invited to wish her well at a Retirement Tea where every child performed a selection of songs and music and colleagues and friends gathered to celebrate at a party with her family.

“Mrs. Weston will be hugely missed and pupils past and present were privileged to belong to the school whilst she was in post.”
