Murder probe after woman found dead and Battle man in hospital

Police are waiting to speak to a Battle man after a murder investigation was launched following the discovery of a woman's body in Herstmonceux today (Monday, March 21).

Officers attended an address in West End following concerns for the occupant shortly before 11.30am and found the body of a woman.

The 50-year-old man from Battle, known to the woman, is currently being treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, for serious injuries.
