NINETY nine year old Rye resident Arthur Woodgate has been honoured by Rye Museum for his efforts in helping preserve Rye memories.
Arthur was made an honorary life member when the museum re-opened for the summer season.
Rye MP Amber Rudd was present at the opening and on hand to see Arthur given a certificate by the museum’s youngest member two year old Elizabeth Kirkham and her sister five year old Jessica Kirkham.
Museum chairman Jo Kirkham thanked the volunteers who had helped clean the Tower and East Street Museum ready for the opening.
