There is a public meeting at Netherfield Village Hall on Tuesday December 10 to discuss the changes to the bus service that will be introduced in the next couple of weeks. Please come along at 2pm to show your support for the need for a better bus service.
Community Safety Event to be held on Darvel Down on Wednesday December 11 2pm – 3pm, in attendance will be The Dogs Trust offering free microchipping, Local Neighbourhood Policing Team Crime Prevention Officer and Amicus Horizon.
Netherfield Church - Services for the run up to Christmas are as follows: Today, December 6 at midday, The Bishop of Chichester, The Right Reverend Dr. Martin Warner will commence his Visitation to our benefice with a said Eucharist at St. John the Baptist, Netherfield, followed by a light lunch. Sunday December 8 at 10 am. is a United Holy Communion at Brightling; Friday December 13 at 5 pm. is the Licensing of our new Priest in Charge, the Reverend Ann-Marie Crosse. This is a Eucharist to include the Licensing and will be conducted by The Right Reverend Dr. Laurie Green. Refreshments will be provided following the service. Sunday December 15 at 10 am. is a United Holy Communion at Mountfield and on Wednesday December 18 at 10 am. is Netherfield School’s Carol Service at Netherfield. There will be a Carol Service the following weekend at Mountfield but times are yet to be confirmed. On Christmas Eve, Tuesday December 24 at 5.30 pm. we have our Crib Service at Netherfield, this being a service by the children of our village for the children. A superb start to the Christmas celebrations for families, in re-affirming the true meaning of Christmas. On Christmas Day at 10 am. Holy Communion will be celebrated at Netherfield.
As well as all these services, please remember, this Saturday December 7 we have our St. Nicholas Fair from 10 am. until midday in the church. This includes the very popular, Brunch with Santa. Admission is £2.50 to include a visit to Santa in his grotto, receive a present and then enjoy a bacon butty breakfast. There will be seasonal stalls, a lucky dip, raffle and other Christmas delights so we look forward to seeing you.
Our Family Service last Sunday conducted by Father Christopher Channer included a double baptism and we wish both Eliza and Thomas well. Paul Smith, Churchwarden.

WHITE HART - There are various groups meeting throughout the month including Boules, The Rover group, The Harley Davidson group, T.R.Cars and The Breakaway Club, if you would like to know more about any of the dates and times or the darts and football teams please give Sean a ring on 01424 838382. White Hart Boules Pitch. The pieste is free to use, any clubs please feel free to come and use the pieste, FOC any time except match days which are Saturday afternoons throughout the season. On Thursday January 16 there will be a Quiz Night in aid of Netherfield Parish Church, the charge is £2.50 per person with a maximum of 6 players per team. Please come along and help raise money for a worthy cause. Food is served from 6pm with the special being sausage, chips & peas or Scampi & chips for only £6.00
On Monday November 19 the ladies darts team played The Bear and on 7-4 this leaves the ladies unbeaten in the league!
On Thursday White Hart B played Staplecross Club, in the darts the team lost 4-3, in the ladies doubles and the mixed pairs the team won, in the men’s pairs the team lost and finally in the push penny the team lost 5-0.
On Monday November 25 the darts team won 7-4 against The White Hart Wadhurst, this again leaves the team unbeaten in the league this season so well done ladies.
On Thursday November 28 the B team only managed to win the mixed pairs, unfortunately they lost every other game.
