An active Rotarian since 1998, he was introduced by the late Albert Freeman, and has held various offices including that of club secretary.

Outgoing President Ray Dixon thanked the members for their support and achievements during his term, and said how much he and wife Jenny had enjoyed the past year. After thanking Ray for all his hard work and enthusiasm, John's first duty as President was to formally induct the new Vice-President Richard Harrison.

The nominated charities for the Presidential year are local football team the 1066 Specials and The League of Friends of Bexhill Hospital.

John is a freight forwarder by profession, having worked in the town since 1983, and owns the Efficient Freight Company in St Leonards Road. Married to Sylvia, he has two step children, and moved home from Netherfield to St Mary's Lane in 1991. His interests include being a keen Liverpool supporter, and he describes himself as a "lapsed private pilot", so it follows when he says he has no desire to change the Club in any way whatsoever!
