NHS responds to St Richard's strike action

NHS BOSSES have responded to the BMA strikes which have affected St Richard's Hospital in Chichester.

Jennie Shore, of Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “We spent a good deal of time talking with our doctors at the Trust, and together we were determined that disruption for patients would be kept to the absolute minimum.

“Although, regrettably, we were not able to completely avoid some patients being affected by the industrial action, the numbers involved were very small. Two non-urgent operating lists were affected at St Richard’s, but we knew about this advance – the patients had been given alternative times and in many cases the surgery took place earlier than planned.”
