It has been suggested that a Ninfield & Hooe Diary be prepared and delivered, free of charge, to every household in Hooe & Ninfield, about 1000 copies. Volunteers are prepared to collate the information, get it printed and arrange – hopefully – and deliver it early April. What they will need is for all groups, organisations, individuals who have dates planned for any events in 2014 to send in the details to include - Date, event title, organisation, venue, and a contact phone/email/ and/or web address. Hooe Open Group will be meeting today, March 14, when a member of the Air Ambulance Service will be giving an illustrated talk on the work of the service. The meeting will commence as usual at 2.30p.m. at Hooe Village Hall, visitors and joining members are always welcome. Ninfield Horticultural Society has two events in March. Firstly on Monday 17, their evening speaker is Kim Richards. He will be telling them about ‘Gardening with Wildlife’. As usual they meet at 7.30p.m. in the Memorial Hall. On Saturday March 22, their annual Spring Show will be held in the Memorial Hall. Visitors are very welcome from 2.30p.m. Schedules, which include entry forms, are available from the village Post Office and they would love more entries from people from the village. Ninfield Village Society Meeting and AGM is on Tuesday, March 18 at the Methodist Hall, 7.00p.m. The meeting is open to all and they would welcome new members who have an interest in helping to maintain the amenities of our village. The 2014 Annual General Meeting of The Society will include a brief report on the work undertaken during the past year, and a discussion of future projects. Following a refreshments break, they have again enlisted Graham Kean who will give a talk about “The history of Roads and Pathways in Sussex”. The Hooe History Society meet on March 20, in Hooe Village Hall. This month Geoff Lawrence will be talking about the history of the Hooe Silver Band, which has been an important part of the village for many years. Members and guests receive a warm welcome at the meetings. If you have not been before why not give yourself a treat?! Ninfield Hall Committee are holding a Quiz Night at the Memorial Hall on Saturday, March 27, from 7p.m. for a 7.30p.m. start. The cost is £5 per person, to include a ploughman’s supper. Please take your cutlery, glasses, drink and nibbles. A maximum of 6 people to a table. Tickets can be purchased by calling 892878. There will also be a raffle. All proceeds raised will go to the hall restoration fund.

The Bexhill & District Community First Responders, who cover Bexhill, Ashburnham, Ninfield, Catsfield, Crowhurst, Hooe , Whydown & Normans Bay, will be meeting on Wednesday, April 2. Ninfield Flower Group are meeting on Monday, April 7, at Ninfield Memorial Hall commencing 7.30p.m. This month they welcome Robin White with his demonstration entitled “Floral Formations”. Non members are welcome at a cost of £4, to include refreshments. All floral arrangements demonstrated are raffled off at the end of the evening.
