A new modernisation programme at Ninfield Post Office will see extended hours and Sunday opening.
The improvements will see opening hours extended by 26 hours a week, seven day a week opening and the end of lunchtime closing.
Services offered will include bill payment, banking, benefits and travel money, home shopping returns and Local Collect.
The service will be provided at a Post Office service point beside the retail till during the store’s opening hours Monday – Saturday: 7am to 6pm; Sunday: 8am – 1pm.
It will mean the Post Office will be temporarily closed from 12.30pm on Easter Saturday (April 4), re-opening at 1pm on Tuesday April 14
There are Alternative branches at Catsfield Post Office, The Green, Catsfield, Battle, TN33 9D and Little Common Post Office, 1b Peartree Lane, Bexhill-On-Sea, TN39 4PE.
Keith Long, Area Manager said: “We know how important Post Office services are to residents in Ninfield and we are confident this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community will be popular.
“The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme.
“The branch will open significantly earlier and close later and it will also mark an end to lunchtime closing. This will give customers more choice when to visit.”
Customers will be able to access a range of Post Office and mail services, including Special Delivery online banking cash deposits and withdrawals. Other services include withdrawals using a Post Office Card Account, send funds abroad using Moneygram, and mobile phone top-up.
