Flu: The final catch-up session for flu vaccinations is at Northiam surgery today (Friday) 2-3.30pm. Private vaccinations are available for all age groups from local pharmacies including Day Lewis in Battle, and Jempsons in Peasmarsh.
Badminton: Badminton Clubs in the Pretious Sports Hall run on Fridays, with the Junior Club at 5.30pm and 6.30pm (Primary & Secondary ages), with the adult club following on at 8pm. The Monday club runs for an hour from 5.45pm. All very welcome.
Dance Club: Sequence Dancing is the attraction in the Village Hall on Fridays from 7.30pm. New members are always welcome, so why not drop by and see if it appeals? Or call Tony Pomfret (253287), who can tell you all about it.
Budgerigar Society: This month’s meeting will be a Presentation Evening, when the Club’s winners will be presented with their Diplomas, following a fish and chip supper. New members, with an interest in budgerigars, are always welcome at meetings, which take place 7-10pm on the 4th Monday of the month in the Jenkins Room. Hist & Lit: Back in time with the Historical and Literary Society – Bob Ogley will be speaking on the topic of Doodlebugs and Rockets. The meeting starts at 7.30pm in Northiam Village Hall on Tuesday.
Coffee Stop: All welcome at Coffee Stop between 10am and midday on Wednesday for coffee and a chat in the Church Centre, when Becky, our PCSO, will be available from 11am to chat about crime prevention and to discuss any issues or concerns.
Coffee Morning: Can it be the end of another month? The monthly Village Hall Coffee Morning with stalls will be held next Friday - 9.30-11.30am.
Quiz: The Bonfire Society will be holding a Quiz in the Village Hall on 29th November. There will be a ploughmans at half time, wine on the table, and beer and wine on sale. Entry is £7.50, and quizzers will be on tables of 8. If you would like to book a table, or be included in a team, please call me (01797 253375).
Christmas Fair: Northiam Nursery and Beckley pre-School’s Christmas Fair will be held in Beckley Village Centre on Sunday 30th, 10am-2pm. There will be craft stalls, large raffle and fun for children. Entry is 50p for adults.
Craft Fair: The Bonfire Society will be holding their next Craft Fair in the Village Hall on December 6th, this time with a Christmas focus, so you could be in line to solve all your gift dilemmas. Entry is free, and there should be around 30 stalls, as well as mulled wine, mince pies, coffee and cake to fortify you while you make your decisions! There will even be Bonfire Society Calendars on sale for only £3 – and if you can’t wait, please call in to The White House Studio, Dixter Road and Terry will sell you one!
