A new day centre for older people has opened its doors at Winchelsea Beach Community Hall.
It is for older people living in the parish of Icklesham wanting to meet others and enjoy light hearted social activities and a home-cooked lunch.
It also hopes to offer support services such as toe nail cutting, manicure and eye-tests, as well as information and advice.
It takes place on Mondays between 10.30am and 2.30pm and costs £5 including refreshments and a two-course lunch.
Transport is available at £3 a person.
A £2,000 grant from the Sussex Community Foundation helped with start-up costs for the project.
The project follows similar successful weekly day-centres held at Pett and Fairlight.
Both centres have grown in numbers since opening and play a vital role in helping to alleviate isolation among older people in rural areas.
