We offer a number of services to support grandparents who have a grandchild with a shortened life expectancy, and host events to enable grandparents to meet others living in similar circumstances. Many grandparents share a special bond with their grandchildren. When they learn that their grandchild has a life-shortening condition, it can present challenging situations and raise difficult emotions. Our family counsellors can also offer support to help grandparents cope with difficult feelings.

We know that many families today face a range of pressures, such as demanding jobs and financial constraints, therefore grandparents are frequently involved in providing childcare and support. I am not a grandparent yet, but hope to be so one day, before I am too old to enjoy it!
