Next week is Children's Hospice Week, the UK's only awareness and fundraising week for children with life-shortening conditions and their families, and the palliative care services that support them.

This year the campaign will put families first to improve public understanding of what life is really like for families caring for seriously ill children. It will also highlight how precious family time is.

The pressures of caring for a child with a life-shortening condition can often mean that you become a carer but don’t get time to be a mum or a dad, and enjoy those special moments that you will treasure forever.

We hope that the care we provide here at Chestnut Tree to children and families in their own homes takes some of that pressure away. Our goal is to give children and their families the chance to live life to the full, for as much time as they have together.

If you would like to help the families of East Sussex get the care they need you can support us in many ways. Whether it’s holding a Superhero Day, organising a cake sale, coffee morning or afternoon tea, holding your own Children’s Hospice Week quiz, or planning your own fundraising event – we ask you to please put your Hands Up! and help us raise vital funds to reach every family that needs our care here in East Sussex.
