LETTER: Is referendum legally binding?

Should you have any constitutional lawyers among your readership, could they please enlighten me as to whether the result of a referendum is legally binding - or is it purely advisory?

Or put another way, will our elected parliament have any say regarding the conditions negotiated on our behalf by Mrs May and her advisors? Given that the Palace of Westminster is structurally unsound and near to collapse, I suspect the answer is a firm ‘No’!

Also, like so many ill-informed members of the public, I am unsure of the subtle difference between ‘Hard Brexit’ and one of the softer variety. Or is ‘Brexit’ simply a new breakfast cereal?
