Clean, safe environment from hard-working family

PRESUMABLY sensible people are getting very hot under the collar over the payment arrangements for car parking at Climping Beach. It is a clean, safe environment.

If I remember accurately, the opening tirade was against the yellow machines being out of place in that setting.

By that critererion, motor vehicles are themselves an unwelcome anachronism – spoiling the medieval atmosphere.

A matter of general ignorance (to outsiders who drive and park here) is the many quiet acts of generosity carried out over the years by the hard-working Baird family for the benefit of our community.

How fortunate that Binsted has so many pleasant areas for dog walking – and your correspondents' cars will not need to pollute the atmosphere to visit Climping.
