However, they have managed it. No-one should deny the need for the provision of such housing, but it should not be crammed in a way that very badly affects existing tenants.
I understand that Arun is saying it will not attempt to obtain additional land to build council houses on but will only consider land it already possesses. Some of the land will no doubt be fine for this use but the current proposals are not. It is also difficult to see why with so much private building planned the council should not be looking to secure further places to put its very modest proposals for council houses.

Hide AdThese proposals are just the first phase, so if the council is allowed to get away with these inappropriate plans then they will no doubt go on in the same way elsewhere in the town.
