Help save squash club

OVER the past 25 years I have been a member of one of the oldest squash clubs in the country, I am talking about Bexhill Squash Club on Bexhill seafront. A lot of people don't even know about the tiny club tucked out of the way.

I and many others have had good times representing the club throughout East Sussex and locally. My standard was average, (many who know me will disagree and say he was not that good) but I enjoyed playing and took an active part in the upkeep and running of the club.

I am sure there are quite a few of you reading this, who have been members and enjoyed the time spent thrashing that small piece of rubber around.

But the reason I am writing this is because the club has fallen upon hard times. It is a members’ club, and with members getting older, players forced to stop through injury and a distinct lack of young blood, the club has fallen upon hard times.

I am appealing to existing or former members, or even somebody who feels that they might be able to help save this once thriving club from extinction.

As always money plays a big part in our problem, so any help or good ideas would be much appreciated, sooner rather then later. It would be such a shame to lose this once great club.

A big thankyou to everybody I have met through the club, for the good times I have had. I hope this is not the end.
