Hope to solve cladding issues at Sovereign Harbour

I wish Mrs Ansell a speedy resolution to the cladding issue which is clearly the fault of government for allowing the problem in the first place and to making it the responsibilty of the leaseholder rather than the landlord.

One hope she will be more successful with her policy of ‘It’s not fair, it’s not right’ with the harbour rent charge at Sovereign Harbour.

Amongst other things some residents are forced to bear the expense of maintaining the two harbour locks as part of the local sea defences.

However, anyone familiar with Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice and the pound of flesh should realise that to meet this obligation of sea defence the lock gates do not need to open, just remain permanently shut.

If the marina operators want to operate a marina through the gates they 
should be paying for that privilege.

My grandfather was a professional yacht skipper and I spent all my childhood on around the river Hamble. I cannot recall anyone paying anything to enjoy the yachting scene at the largest boating centre in the country.
