Horrified at scarecrow letter
AS a recently retired Battle Town Councillor I was horrified at Cllr Jessop’s letter in last weeks Battle Observer regarding the Scarecrow Festival.
A thank you to Battel Bonfire Boyes would have been sufficient without the unnecessary detail that was given.
It is totally unacceptable to ‘wash your linen in public’ in this way just because the voting did not proceed his way, and as he wished.

Hide AdThe council has many calls on its limited resources, distributing its finances as the councillors see fit by democratic voting, and on individual merits.
I assume Cllr Jessop declared an interest in the scarecrow item, if not he is in breach of the Councillors Code of Conduct.
