In Bloom thanks

RUSTINGTON Parish Council and the Rustington-in-Bloom committee would like to thank the groups, businesses and individuals who made a tremendous contribution, both financially and with precious time, to the village’s entry into South and South East-in-Bloom and the Entente Florale Europe competitions.

These were judged respectively on July 20 and 29, but it will not be until mid-September that we will know the results.

The 11 judges, nine from Europe, for the prestigious European competition, made some very favourable comments about the village on their six-hour judging tour. They enjoyed meeting people, especially the children, and were very impressed with our wonderful floral displays.

Once again we are indebted to Ferring Nurseries, our contractor, who always makes a huge contribution through the extra work undertaken, at no additional cost, and gives financial contributions to different village floral projects.

Judging day finished with a civic dinner, which gave us the opportunity to thank those in the village who had willingly made contributions to our entry into these competitions. The chairman of the jury, Inca Truxova, thanked us for our hospitality and warm reception.
