Legalise drugs?

I agree with Duncan Barkes (Gazette, February 20) that drug-use should be legalised as per the Colorado scheme of licensed outlets.

However, I can’t see the Government being so altruistic in spending the proceeds.

The freedom to choose whether or not to use any kind of drug will give parents more incentive to guide their children and allow the more responsible youngsters to choose between life and death.

I have always been surprised by the amount of money squandered by youngsters on alcohol (and drugs), rather than saving towards their future – whatever that might be – depending upon the individual ambitions.
