Posting appointments, such a waste of money

IT seems that someone is hell-bent on wasting money.

In the past, after a patient saw the doctor, a new appointment date was given and recorded on a card given to the patient.

Now after a super-duper computer system has been installed, the patient is no long given a new appointment date, but a first class letter is sent within a few days, giving the new appointment date.

The cost of this must be enormous – thousands of letters times the cost of a first class stamp. What waste.

Incidentally, I had a appointment fixed for a certain time, but later received a further letter stating that my appointment would be half an hour later than the original time. With respect, when did anyone see the doctor at the exact time of the appointment?
