Roads are a mess

AS A follow-up comment to Paul Dendle’s letter on barring access to certain roads for heavy goods vehicles, I would point out that his proposals are simply out of touch with reality.

We see the continual building and/or renovation of more factories in Littlehampton, and Climping/Ford/Yapton without thought about access. For goodness sake, these businesses need access for goods vehicles just as much as they need telephones and other services. By closing access through Lyminster and Arundel what is left, parachuting supplies in? No,. it will mean pushing all the vehicles through even less suitable roads in Yapton and back along the already overloaded A259.

The whole road system in this part of West Sussex is a total mess and will get worse as the hundreds of new houses proposed for the area are completed! It is no good closing off the odd roads, it does not get rid of the traffic!
