Support theatre

READERS writing to the letters page about the Windmill Entertainment Centre closing need to understand that, if people do not buy tickets and support the Windmill, it will close.

I have arranged with the backing of my church committee for an international celebrity, T, J, Higgs, to perform an evening of clairvoyance, at the Windmill on June 15 and so far, only 30 tickets have been sold. A small theatre like the Windmill offers a better view of the stage, and better odds of getting a reading.

The cost of booking T, J, Higgs for a 200-seat theatre is £2,000, plus hiring the venue and advertising, approximately £6-700.

This is not a rich promoter putting on this evening of entertainment, but a local church, which stands to make a large financial loss for its efforts to bring an international celebrity to Littlehampton.

If you check her website, you will find that in many other towns she has sold out within days of going on sale. Come on, people of Littlehampton, support the Windmill.
