Thanks to all who sent best wishes

I DON’T want to keep going on about my recent birthday, but must take this opportunity of thanking the many Observer readers for their cards and good wishes.

I also wish to thank the Observer for the photograph and report in last week’s letters page - it did my ego the power of good!

Sadly there was a downside - I didn’t receive a card from Rother District Council, The Arts Council, the De La Warr Pavilion or English Heritage.

I cannot think why, next year perhaps.
