The best way to keep this flood plain area green is not to build anything on it

FIRST of all I would like to say I am not against the Green Power project being proposed (Gazette front page story, April 3).

However, it doesn't seem right to me to be taking a green field for green power '” surely there must be an empty factory site in the area that could be redeveloped for this purpose.

Toddington Lane was once a quiet lane to the Brooks and Poling that has now gone.

Is this going to be another green field step towards Poling at the Norway Lane end?

I have lived in Littlehampton all my life and that area was always known as the Brooks, so that must suggest water, making it a flood plain.

If it is built on we now know it will increase flooding in surrounding areas.

In our younger years, many times were spent over at the Brooks, jumping ditches, climbing trees and seeing the wildlife, which is still in abundance, and so would be affected if this project went ahead.

So, to Arun District Council, I say please, save these few remaining green fields.
