Verges look like a potato patch

Reading the story on page two of the Observer I felt that I had to write.

Its good to see that some residents cut the verges in front of their homes in spite of it being the job of council.

Can someone please say why we only hear of these stories from the Cooden area and town centre. BEG ought to take a trip to the outskirts at Wrestwood Road and see the sheer destruction of the eight-metre wide grass verge fronting the first row of houses.

This used to be a lovely grassy area when we moved here 20 to 30 years ago, people who parked there were given tickets by the traffic wardens (does anyone remember them).

The area is owned by Sussex Highways Department and numerous complaints have been made over the years but nothing is ever done.

Now the place looks like a potato patch. Pathways over have been obliterated and are a danger to the public who now have to walk through mud to get to the kerbside.

There is parking in the roads behind but people do not like to walk,my two sons and I park at the back and will not destroy the grass in front of our house.
