Panto fun fills cancer cause’s coffers

Simon Vyvyan, 39, along with his friends from Micronian Theatre Productions, staged a fundraising spring pantomime in Brighton that drummed up £1,544.69 for Cancer Research.

The show, entitled Dwarf Cottage Guest House, was a new spin on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and featured drag and cabaret artiste Auntie Robbie – who has appeared on Channel 5 and ITV – as the Wick Witch, with Simon, who is a commercial manager at a timber and builders merchants, playing Sleazy Dwarf.

The play followed the tales of seven unemployed dwarfs.

With little luck job-hunting, the unlucky seven open up Dwarf Cottage as a guest house – something which the Wicked Queen hates. She then plots to shut down their enterprise.

Simon said: “Not only did we have a lot of fun putting on the show, but we are also incredibly proud to have raised such a fantastic amount of money in just five days.

“Cancer affects so many of us and if we can do our bit to hopefully get one step closer to a cure, that’s amazing.”
