Mary Hitchins, 2 The Old Hop Gardens

There is a new church electoral roll in the making. Every six years the Church of England Diocese prepares a new electoral roll. Those on the previous roll are informed so that they can re-apply. Any member of the Church of England of 16 years or over, resident in the parish, can apply. So can any member not resident in the parish who has habitually attended public worship in the parish for the 6 months prior to enrolment.

Application forms have been delivered this month with the parish magazine. There are some available in our two churches, or it is possible to download one from the Diocese of Chichester website. Anyone wishing to apply who cannot get hold of a form can contact the PCC Treasurer, Adrian Jenkins, on 230992, or either of the Peasmarsh churchwardens, John Underwood (230751) or Jennifer Als (230324). Completed forms can be returned to any lay people responsible for the parish of St Peter and St Paul, or to the box in either church.

Deirdre Bull is organising a “spring clean” of the church during the morning of Easter Saturday (March 30th) from 9.30am. Why not come along and help ?

Tickets for the Friends of Peasmarsh Parish Church Early May Bank Holiday Concert and Candlelit Supper will shortly be going on sale. Don’t miss this return visit of the wonderful Celan Quartet, who this year will be bringing with them Joel Sandelson (‘cello) string finalist in last year’s BBC Young Musician of the Year.

Brochures for this concert, and for the Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival in June will be available in the church any minute if they are not there already..

As many of you may know, the Guide Company in Beckley has had to close for lack of a Leader. Our wonderful Leader in Peasmarsh is not sure how much longer she will be able to continue. If you think you could help in any way to keep our Guide Company going, please contact Pam Hanwell (224739).

A word of appreciation for our wonderful builders, Kenwhite Development, who despite the appalling weather this winter have continued to work on the Memorial Hall through the cold and the rain and are still on target for completion in June.

The service this Sunday (Palm Sunday) at Peasmarsh church will be Holy Eucharist at 3pm.
