Don’t leave it too late to get your tickets for the concert on May 6 given by the Celan Quartet and followed by a candlelit dinner in the church. These exceptionally talented young musicians visited Peasmarsh for the first time last year and amazed their audience, not only with the excellence of their technique and ensemble playing, but also with the maturity and depth of their interpretation. In the future we shall be proud to say we heard them play. This year, they bring with them the ‘cellist who was the string finalist in last year’s BBC Young Musician of the year with whom they will be playing the Schubert Quintet in C major. For music lovers this is an opportunity not to be missed. Ask anyone who heard them last year ! Tickets are available from Robin Thompson at Stream Farmhouse, and there are brochures in both our churches.

An appeal to those of you who enjoy using the Recreation Ground in the late afternoon and evenings. Please keep the mobile goalposts away from the back gardens of the residents in the Old Hop Gardens.

The 10 o’clock service at Peasmarsh this Sunday will be a short family-orientated service to celebrate St George’s Day on April 23. We look forward to having a lot of young people in the church which we hope will include members of our Brownie Pack. The Little Choir with their handbells will also be there; there will be no afternoon service this week.
