Mary Hitchins, 2 The Old Hop Gardens

Next Thursday is the day to vote for our East Sussex County Councillor - remember that as the Memorial hall is still undergoing renovations the polling station will be the Pavilion at the Recreation ground. Polling stations are open from 7am until 10pm.

A reminder that the date of the annual meeting for the combined parish of All Saints Beckley and St Peter and St Paul Peasmarsh has now been changed to Monday April 29 at Peasmarsh Church. The meeting to elect the churchwardens will commence at 7pm and may be attended by those whose names are on the electoral roll, or on the Local Authority’s current register of electors and all are entitled to vote. This will be followed by the Annual Parochial Meeting at 7.30 which only those on the electoral roll may attend and vote for representatives to the Synod and the Parochial Church Council.

Also, don’t leave it too late to get your tickets for the concert on May 6 given by the Celan Quartet which will be followed by a candlelit dinner in the church. This year, they bring with them the ‘cellist who was the string finalist in last year’s BBC Young Musician of the year with whom they will be playing the Schubert Quintet in C major. Tickets are available from Robin Thompson at Stream Farmhouse,Main Street, and there are brochures in both our churches.

This Sunday the service at Peasmarsh will be Holy Eucharist at 3pm. There will be a Family Service at Beckley church at 10am as well as the 8am service.
