DOG MESS: At the risk of repeating myself, the point of picking up after your dog is so that you can take their waste home with you and dispose of it in the correct manner. Decorating trees and shrubs with bags of dog waste isn’t helping anyone, nor is it attractive. Thank you.

ROCK & ROLL EVENING : This takes place tomorrow (Saturday August 15) at 7.30pm until 10.30pm at the hall. Tickets cost £13 which includes a fish and chip supper; (bring your own drinks and glasses) and are still available from Jan Weston 20 School Lane 230877 or from the St Michael’s Hospice shop in Rye. This event was very popular last year, dust off your dancing shoes and join in the fun to the music of local band ‘And Something Else’!

ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR: There will be an Art and Crafts Fair at the hall on Sunday August 23, doors open at 10.30am; there’s usually a large variety of stalls so why not go along and have a browse!

JEMPSON’S BOOT FAIR: This Bank Holiday Monday August 31 there will be a Charity Boot Fair at Jempson’s. This will be the last Boot Fair this year; so far over £1,700 has been raised for local charities. This time the money is being raised for Rye Day Centre; gates open at 7am and hardstanding pitches will be available on the day from £5.

SPEED WATCH GROUP: The Speed Watch Group are looking for some new volunteers to join them in helping to reduce the number of vehicles speeding through our village - for more information please contact Peter Lamont on 230905, or speak to any of the Parish Councillors.

CHURCH SERVICES: This Sunday August 16 there will be a service of Holy Eucharist at Peasmarsh church at 10am.
