Good Samaritan from Hastings comes to aid of stranded NHS worker

Sharon Simpson, a domiciliary care professional for Radfield Home Care was driving home on the A21 at Sedlescombe, last week, when she spotted a stationary car at the side of the road.

Sharon commented: “It was around 10pm, I had just finished work and could see that the person was on their own and that the car lights were fading. I decided to stop to see if I could help.”

The person was Ferdi Nazim, an NHS worker who was also on his way home to Lamberhurst. Ferdi said: “My car completely cut out in a very dangerous spot, my indicator lights had failed too and I was terrified. Sharon pulled up behind me and put her indicators on and did everything she could to reassure me until the AA arrived. It was pitch black and I dread to think what might have happened if Sharon hadn’t stopped”.

Radfield Home Care Director Samuel Holmes ensured Sharon’s act of kindness was recognised by the company and added: “Sharon is an exceptionally caring person and we are all very proud of her. Her actions have reminded us all that offering a helping hand to a stranger in trouble – or simply doing something nice for the sake of it – are some of the most heartwarming and fulfilling things a person can do.”
