Incredible meteor shower seen over Sussex skies

Sussex residents reported seeing flashes of an incredible meteor shower over the county last night.

The Met Office asked its Twitter followers to show their photos and footage of a reported meteor shower over the UK at about 8pm last night (Monday, January 9).

Several Sussex residents reported seeing the meteor shower and posted their own footage with sightings in Storrington, Brighton, Battle and Steyning.

The shooting star display, known as the Quadrantids, is an annual event and usually occurs between late December and early January.
