The project was initiated by Langney councillor Candy Vaughan, when she was chair of the Eastbourne Homes Area Panel, and has been developed through the Shinewater and North Langney Partnership involving a range of groups including young people from Causeway School and YMCA, Friends of the Park, local artists, local councillors and Eastbourne Voluntary group 3VA.

The new murals are under the road bridge in Shinewater Park as well as on the side of the storage container which is used by community groups.

Councillor Vaughan said, “The young people who worked on these murals should be very proud of their achievement. I would like to express my thanks to all of them, and to Tom Gouldon for organising the groups and to Jodey Masouri for his excellent artwork on the freight container. Thanks also to 3VA and to Morrison’s community champion Kim for keeping everyone fed and watered.”

The chair of Shinewater and North Langney Partnership Alan Shuttleworth said, “This has been a great community initiative supported by a range of groups and the local schools and everyone involved in the project should celebrate this community achievement.”
