Slinfold schoolchildren’s special Remembrance Day tribute

Pupils at Slinfold CE Primary School placed pebbles painted with red and purple poppies on the village’s war memorial to commemorate Remembrance Sunday.

All of the children in the pre-school and school decorated a beach pebble with their individual poppy designs to create an eye catching display.

Teaching assistant Marlies Barber, who created the project, said: “Each year the children take pride in completing a craft activity to honour Slinfold’s fallen heroes and it is especially poignant this year with the village’s Remembrance Day parade and memorial activities having to be scaled down.

“The children are thrilled to be playing a part in this important village event, as they honour and remember the men and animals that gave their lives to keep us safe.”
