The hospice has said it can re-purpose the presents as items for fund raising raffles and auctions during this year.

Kirsty Williams, from the hospice, explained: “While we are always so grateful for every gift we receive over the festive season, sometimes we are the recipient of a present we simply won’t use, or are given two of the same item and never get round to using them both.

“Not sure what to do when faced with this predicament? Well St Michael’s Hospice can put your unwanted presents to good use, as they make perfect prizes for Hospice raffles and tombolas that take place throughout the year.

“If you would like to give an additional gift this Christmas and support a local charity, please drop off your donation at one of our collection points at Tesco Extra, Church Wood Drive, St Leonards on Sea or Tesco, Ravenside, Bexhill on Sea.

The hospice, along with many other charities and good causes, has seen its fund raising hit by the pandemic, with many events, which usually support it, having to be cancelled and its charity shops across the area having to close for much of the time.

St Michael’s Hospice has been operating for over 30 years and provides high quality, responsive palliative care and bereavement support across Hastings and Rother, working collaboratively with others to improve end of life care for all.
