POPP on Tuesday June 11 will be starting a service for people who are suffering hearing loss. It will be through a company called Hi Kent, who are bringing their service outlet to this area and they will send a volunteer to service hearing aids for people in Pett and surrounding areas. Please note that you do not need to be a member of POPP to use this service. Keith Osborne will also be at this session, which runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

POPP is also looking for volunteers who could give just a few hours either weekly or monthly. You would be working with a friendly team of people, have a good sense of humour and be able to turn your hand to anything. Help is needed with setting up from 8:30am till 10:am; chatting and interacting with clients from 10am till 12:30pm; and there is also a need for help on the kitchen from 10am until 2:30pm. You can do as many or as few hours as you please but if you do 4 hours, you will get a home cooked lunch. Contact details are in the June edition of Pett Parish News or just drop in to Pett Village Hall any Tuesday.

And finally on POPP, the Open Gardens on Thursday June 20 from 10:30am to 3pm are getting closer. There will be 8 gardens in total with one featuring a sale table and another a garage sale. Details of the gardens are in Pett Parish News and on Pettnet.

Pett Gardening Club will also meet on Tuesday June 11 but this month they are meeting at 2:30pm in the Rye Harbour car park before embarking on a 3km walk around the Rye Nature Reserve. The walk will be followed by a Fish & Chip supper at the Inkerman Arms and again details are in the June edition of Pett Parish News.
